There have been many experiences in my life that have led me to have quite a distrustful heart. I have had a very difficult time with this in lots of areas of my life — especially in relationships with close friends and family — and even in relationship with God. I have discussed this in great depth with some of those saints God has placed in my life that I spoke of in my about me post. And have even been to counseling and discussed it. And I think God has used every bit of that to get me to where I am now.
I have always believed IN God — but it has been hard for me to believe as Beth Moore puts it — that God IS who HE says HE is and will do what he says he will do. It isn’t that I thought God COULDN’T do it or even that he WOULDN’T do it for some people. My issue was believing that he wanted to do it (whatever IT happens to be at that moment) for me.
Now – I am currently leading the study (by Beth Moore) called Breaking Free. (It is an AWESOME study that I highly recommend btw…) at our church. I have led this study before but because of some events that have been going on in my life lately – it is meaning SOOO much more this time. (PRAISE THE LORD!!!) See – first we learned 5 benefits to a relationship with God and this week we are learning the 5 main obstacles to those benefits. Well – guess what one of them is – You guessed it – UNBELIEF!
And what I learned as I went through this day of study is that the expiriences I’ve been having lately though not fun, are definately being used by God to help me learn to trust again! And I was encouraged to see that I am, in fact, learning to believe that God is who he says he is and will do what he says he can do!!! THANK you to God above – for being faithful everyday and for helping me learn to trust again AND for sending great Christian Women like Beth Moore to write such great and meaningful studies.
I just had to share what an awesome God we have. He is faithful and trust worthy each and every moment of every day! I hope each of you knows and feels this as well!
